Edovo: Providing Hope and Transformative Opportunity

An Education Portfolio Company Story: Edovo

Edovo is a nonprofit organization that provides free educational, vocational, and rehabilitative programming to incarcerated individuals through secure tablet networks.

This story was previously published in the 2025 Impact Metrics Report (June, 2026).

Every day, nearly two million people in the United States are incarcerated — waiting, serving time, and often forgotten.

For decades, fewer than 20% of these individuals had access to education, although 97% would return home. Edovo works to change that narrative—by restoring opportunity, dignity, and hope.

Through a secure, tablet-based platform, Edovo brings education directly into prisons and jails, meeting people where they are and reminding them of who they can become. In 2025 alone, the platform expanded its library with over 1,500 hours of new coursework, offering content across academic, personal growth, and life skills. Behind every lesson is a simple but powerful truth: people deserve the chance to grow. And they are.

Today, more than 1.4 million incarcerated learners across 1,483 facilities are using Edovo, collectively earning nearly 4.9 million certificates—each one representing time reclaimed, effort invested, and belief restored.

But the real impact is beyond the numbers.

For many of the incarcerated, time inside becomes an opportunity to prepare for something more. Instead of just counting the days, they are working toward returning to their life and families as people who are stronger and more present.

These newfound opportunities come after years without access to programming. Through Edovo, even small accomplishments begin to restore a sense of worth—each one a reminder that her life still holds purpose. These stories are not rare.

They are happening every day.

Across the country, individuals are rediscovering hope, building skills, and choosing transformation—one lesson at a time through Edovo.
