IVD Mural Arts
IVD Mural Arts is a community development and historic revitalization initiative dedicated to restoring landmark properties, supporting local artists, and strengthening Selma’s cultural identity through arts-based investment. The organization’s mission is to help transform downtown Selma into a vibrant destination by preserving historic architecture, fostering creative expression, and celebrating the stories, heritage, and resilience that define the city and the surrounding Black Belt region.
Through the restoration of historic properties in Selma’s Water Avenue District and its partnership with MACAS (Making Art Connections Across Selma), IVD Mural Arts supports public art projects, cultural programming, and community engagement initiatives that contribute to economic and social renewal. The annual Mural Arts Festival brings together local and regional artists to create public works that highlight the area’s history, culture, and creative talent. By investing in historic preservation, arts programming, and community collaboration, IVD Mural Arts seeks to position Selma as a destination known not only for its civil rights legacy, but also for its thriving arts community and ongoing story of renewal.
