Introducing the Christian Investing Council
An ecosystem update by Impact Foundation staff member, Betsy Phillips.
As Christian and values-based investing have grown, new questions and issues have arisen. The Christian Investing Council was founded in 2026 to help cultivate an ecosystem of clarity, transparency, and thoughtful guidance.
As the generosity movement expands, we’ve continued to grow in understanding what it means to say ‘God owns it All.’ A generous life encompasses how one shares time, talent, and treasure. From a financial standpoint, this means taking a both/and approach. Faithful stewardship includes both granting and investing, charitable and personal capital, financial statements and balance sheets. It can feel daunting to work through all the issues related to aligning our investments with a Christian worldview, so new tools are emerging.
Seeing the need to provide more transparency and consistency in how we evaluate investment options, Kingdom Advisors, Impact Foundation, and others in the generosity ecosystem called for a deeper theological foundation for Christian investing along with educational resources and tools for thoughtful stewardship. As more believers ask how retirement accounts, mutual funds, ETFs, and institutional portfolios can reflect faithful stewardship, industry leaders have recognized the need for practical guidance and a common understanding. They affirmed that investing is more than pursuing returns—it is a way to put capital to work for the future, creating value, and serving others.
In May 2026, these thought leaders launched the Christian Investing Council (CIC) to provide educational resources that help investors align their financial decisions with the beliefs, character, and mission of the Christian faith.
The effort brings together financial professionals, theologians, and Christian leaders. With input from nearly two dozen theological and financial experts, the council developed a foundational Statement on Christian Investing. Rob West and Luke Bolton helped lead the launch alongside a broad coalition committed to cultivating clarity, accountability, and shared understanding. The Christian Investing Council seeks to bridge the gap between conviction and capital. The framework guides and encourages Christian investors to avoid investments that conflict with their faith, engage opportunities to use their influence for good, and embrace investments that contribute to human flourishing.
“The generosity movement is ready for its next step: greater transparency and clarity so every investor can align their capital with God's redemptive purposes.” —Impact Foundation CIO, Aimee Minnich
As more investors seek alignment between faith and finance, the Christian Investing Council can equip them with confidence, wisdom, and discernment to steward their resources in ways that honor God, serve others, and anticipate the restoration He promises.
