Purnaa is a World Fair Trade-guaranteed social enterprise based in Kathmandu, Nepal.

Purnaa produces sustainable clothing that uses safe manufacturing and dyeing processes and ensures the safe sourcing of fabric fibers, intentionally selecting materials to be produced with the least environmental impact.

In a country where opportunity is often found far from home, Purnaa is creating a different path—one of dignity, safety, and freedom.

In Nepal, the lack of local employment pushes thousands to seek work abroad, often exposing them to trafficking and exploitation. In fact, an estimated 40,000 people are trafficked each year in Nepal alone.

Purnaa changes that reality by offering safe, ethical jobs—restoring choice where there was once vulnerability.

Purnaa’s work is not just about jobs. It is about people reclaiming their lives.

Through meaningful employment, survivors of trafficking and individuals facing severe discrimination are finding stability and economic freedom.

Today, 289 employees support 623 family members, turning wages into food on the table, education for children, and hope for the future. This year alone, 53 new jobs were created, and 63 individuals received life and job skills training—many stepping into formal employment for the first time. Stories like Bidhya are encouraging.

“Before Purnaa, I used to borrow money for my expenses. Now I earn by myself.” That shift—from dependence to independence—is a true measure of impact.

Purnaa offers more to its employees than just wages. Through its Empowerment Fund, employees receive support in times of crisis, scholarships for themselves and their children, and even access to transportation—removing barriers that once made steady work impossible.

Purnaa is creating jobs and restoring freedom. And as employees build stable, healthy lives, they become the foundation for stronger families and communities, opening the door for others to follow and find freedom as well.
