Indlu Living
Indlu Living is helping solve South Africa’s housing shortage by turning backyard spaces in townships into quality rental homes. They work with local landowners, giving them tools, funding, and support to build safe, affordable housing and become small-scale property developers in their own neighborhoods.
Focused mainly in Gauteng townships like Tembisa and Mamelodi, Indlu Living has helped build over 1,000 rental units and improve living conditions for more than 2,200 families. Their work goes beyond housing—creating jobs, supporting women-led businesses, and building stronger communities from the ground up.
